The borough’s elected officials are some of the most unattractive in the country, according to an online poll of Britain’s sexiest MPs.
Ilford South MP Mike Gapes was worst, rated only 629th of the 648 MPs in the Commons by voters at website www.sexymp.co.uk.
Rankings varied, but at at 2.30pm on Thursday (June 2), Iain Duncan Smith, MP for Chingford and Woodford Green was 447nd; John Cryer, MP for Leyton and Wanstead, was 389th and Lee Scott, Ilford North MP was 385th.
Website creator Francis Boule said he fully expects the page to offend some people, but hopes people see the funny side.
“I thought it would be an interesting opportunity to hold the first ever parliamentary beauty contest and find out once and for all which MPs and parties have the most sex appeal,” he said.
