The borough’s bookworms were invited to feel the force this weekend at a one-off Star Wars reading day.

At libraries across Redbridge, Padawans and parents alike were thrilled by Jedi Knights and Sith Lords encouraging them to get to grips with a good book.

At Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford, the dark side was in the ascendancy, with an imperial officer and an All-Terrain Armoured Transport (AT-AT) pilot roaming the sci-fi section.
