Redbridge Indian welfare association celebrate republic day

The history of Indian culture was commemorated with a traditional feast.

The Redbridge Indian Welfare Association held a dinner to be remembered at the Masala restaurant in Eastern Avenue, Ilford, for the Republic Day of India.

Ram Bhangri, general secretary of the association, said: “It is a very important day for the community and I think everyone liked it.”

A group – made up of about 50 members – enjoyed traditional Indian dishes such as chicken pitta and bhajis while listening to Indian music and learning about the history of the country.

Ram said: “It is always a great occasion and I am already looking forward to organising it again next year.”
