The stray dog service in Redbridge has been recognised with a Gold Footprint award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) for the third year running.

Redbridge Council’s service promotes responsible dog ownership through education and enforcement. Criteria for the award include having plans in place to treat sick and injured stray dogs, promoting schemes to reduce the number of long-term strays such as micro-chipping, and best practice in treating sick dogs efficiently and humanely.

The council offers a free micro-chipping service.
