The first Redbridge Council local forum will be taking place tonight.
The forums, which have replaced the former area committees, will include new-style market place and question and answer sessions.
The inaugural event will take place tonight at Redbridge Central Library, Ilford, from 6pm to 9.15pm.
Each forum will be held at different venues across the borough.
There will be stalls manned by council officers, councillors, partner and voluntary sector organisations, and a question time where officers and councillors will respond to questions.
Cllr Jas Athwal, leader of the council said, said the authority was keen for residents to “set the agenda” for the forums.
“Local voices matter and we want those voices to be heard,” he said.
