COMMUTERS face travel chaos throughout the Tube network in Redbridge this morning with the latest action by rail unions.

Transport for London managers admit that the 24-hour stoppage by the RMT and TSSA unions which started at 6.30pm last night will mean restricted service on some lines, including the Central Line, and many stations will be closed.

The action has been brought because the unions are unhappy with job losses which they say will compromise safety for passengers.

RMT general secretary Bob Crow, who lives in Woodford, says the union has “no choice” other than to take action to maintain the safety of passengers.
