Former students of Redbridge College are being invited back to school to help support current pupils.

The college, on Barley Lane, has registered with the chairty Future First, hoping to set up an alumni network to help its current contingent.

Mentors can help as career or education models, work experience providers, governors, donors or fundraisers.

Alex Shapland-Howes, managing director of Future First, said: “It’s really important for all students to be motivated to succeed in the working world and hearing first hand from relatable people in interesting jobs can make a huge difference.”

And Dan Pearson, deputy principal, said, “A network of past students with all their valuable experience will be vital in helping us to broaden current students’ jobs horizons and equip them for the world of work.”
