Redbridge Music Lounge

The venue is opening its doors to all musicians, composers and songwriters on Wednesday between 11am and 2pm.

The group aims to establish a network with local musicians of all genres and ages, to promote and develop the diverse musical culture in the borough.

The venue is for musicians, and anyone interested in playing music, that have time to play at daytime projects, events and festivals.

People can bring their own instruments and rehearsal equipment and performing facilities will be available too.

The Redbridge Music Lounge is based at Ilford Sports Club Pavilion in Cricklefield Place, Ilford.

Redbridge Rainbow Community

The group is hosting a health and wellbeing event for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month on February 28.

Redbridge Rainbow Community aims to raise awareness around LGBT issues and to ensure that individuals within Redbridge are aware of the full range of support available to them if needed.

It is also inviting organisations to hold information stalls at the event where there will be HIV testing and Chlamydia screening for those who are interested.

The event will take place at Redbridge Central Library in Clements Road, Ilford, from 12pm until 5pm.

Redbridge Music Society

Musical enthusiasts may be interested in attending a session dedicated to jazz and piano playing.

On Monday, well known jazz pianist Keith Nichols will give a demonstration of classic jazz and ragtime playing at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead.

Attendees will be able to observe, listen and learn the art of jazz piano playing from Mr Nichols, who is a well known in the jazz world.

The workshop is suitable for people aged five and over and it costs £10 or £7 if you are a member of the Redbridge Music Society.

Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure

A new orchard restoration project is getting under way at Hainault Lodge Local Nature Reserve in Forest Road.

On February 10, between 10am and 2.30pm Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure need help with the work and is seeking people who can clear around the old trees, carry out restorative pruning and plant some new varieties of fruit.

Volunteers should meet at Redbridge Cycling Centre Car Park in Forest Road, Hainault.
