A Redbridge running club took part in a special 48 hour marathon on Friday where they managed to complete more than 510 miles, double what they expected.
Sikhs In The City, began the continuous marathon in Roding Lane South, Redbridge, where they managed to complete 409 laps over two days.
The total distance covered amounted to 511.33 miles.
Club secretary, Harmander Singh, said: “It is a fantastic effort by all and to think we thought it would be good to reach a total of ten marathons, at 511 miles we were less than half a marathon distance short of doubling that.
“Thank you to all who participated and supported the event, particularly Sangat TV and Des Pardes newspaper.”
