Young cadets from Redbridge supported 12,000 police officers in ensuring people could enjoy themselves at the Notting Hill Carnival.

A group of 10 cadets aged 14 to 19, led by Pc Amanda Miller and another officer, assisted in the Met Police’s largest annual operation.

They provided safety information and handed out maps at transport hubs close to the carnival on Sunday and Monday.

A total of 175 cadets were commended in person by Met Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe.

Chief Insp David Tait said: “I would like to thank the cadets for the excellent work that they did over the two days.”
