They may be too young to remember it but pupils at a South Woodford school are travelling back to the 1980s tomorrow for Red Nose Day.

Oakdale Junior School in Oakdale Road, South Woodford, will be awash with 80s fashion tomorrow as the youngsters raid their parents’ wardrobes and dress up for the day.

They’re remembering the year Comic Relief was first launched - 1985 - as part of the annual celebrations to raise money for good causes.

Schools across the borough are joining in the fun, including Woodbridge High School in St Barnabas Road, Woodford Green, where classes have joined in a full programme of events.

Today they held a drama production to raise money and tomorrow students will come to school dressed in red rather than their normal uniform.

There will also be a cake sale and a staff car wash.

Follow the Recorder’s website tomorrow to see how Redbridge helps good causes around the world.
