Redbridge residents working in central London saw an increase in the cost of their commute today as national fare increases were implemented across the country.
The cost of an annual season ticket with Greater Anglia between Ilford and London, including travel within Zones 1-4, has risen 3.21% from £1,744 a year to £1,800.
A weekly zone 1-4 travel card has gone up from £43.60 to £45,00, a rise of 3.21%.
A Greater Anglia spokesperson said: “Annual fare rises help to maintain investment in the railways and are determined largely by government policy as confirmed in the Autumn Statement. We are continuing to invest in improving our services for customers.”
Fares increases within the London Travelcard area on day tickets, season tickets, travelcards and Oyster Pay As You Go will apply from January 19.
