The two puma-class helicopters were spotted by residents at around 1.30am, and were seen landing in Seven Kings Park, in Aldborough Road South.

Wing Commander Martin Tinworth, from the RAF’s communications team, said that residents have nothing to worry about.

He said: “I can confirm that the two RAF puma helicopters spotted flying over Ilford last night were on routine training operations in preparation for operational deployment.”
