Race relations rep to tackle issue of blame during talk in Gants Hill

A race relations representative is due to give a talk in Gants Hill later this month about the way communities are blaming each other for their problems.

Harmit Athwal, of the Institute of Race Relations, will attend the Redbridge Equalities and Community Council general meeting on November 28 to discuss the issues and the institute’s actions in challenging them.

She will speak about how in times of austerity and anxiety, different communities are scapegoated for the troubles we all face.

The event will be at Gants Hill United Reform Church in Woodford Avenue.
