Performances of Happy Birthday and the national anthem were some of the highlights at a celebratory coffee morning.

Guests of all ages joined in the fun at Wanstead Library, Spratt Hall Lane, Wanstead, yesterday to honour the Queen’s 90th.

The event raised £650 for the Mayor of Redbridge Cllr Barbara White’s rainbow appeal.

Entertainment was provided by the Bayswater Woodwind Quartet, with food and drink donated by Gill’s Grill, Waitrose, Budgens, Tesco and Costa Coffee.

Chairwoman of the fundraising committee Mary O’Shea said: “We were pleased to take all the profit – it was very generous of them.

“We had live music which was really good. Everybody enjoyed it.”

Guests included residents of Cambridge Nursing Home, Cambridge Park, Wanstead, and members of RDWWA (Redbridge Disabled Women’s Welfare Association).
