School pupils attempted to break two chocolate eating world records last week, while raising money for projects in Israel.

King Solomon High School, Forest Road, Barkingside raised almost 400 for the MyIsrael charity by attempting to eat a chocolate orange in record time or finishing 11 After Eight mints in under a minute.

Pupils paid an entry fee to take part, or watch during lunch.

The event was organised by the school’s head of Jewish studies and four Year 11 pupils, after taking a trip in the summer to visit various charities helped by MyIsrael.

Sadly, the world records remained intact despite the best efforts of almost 60 pupils, but more events are planned next year.
