Public members of a health trust are urged to participate in a vote.

The North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) opened voting this week for its Council of Governors.

The governors provide a direct link to communities, represent the interests of members and residents in the development of the trust, advise NELFT’s non-executive directors and participate in statutory duties including appointing the trust chair and auditor.

The candidates standing for the three governor places in Redbridge are Natasha Benjamin, Angela Burnell, John Elliffe, Stephen Granditer, Marian Hynes and Lesley McLeod.

Peter Wignall, the acting chair of NELFT, said: “Thank you to all those who put themselves forward to stand for election to the NELFT Council of Governors.

“It is great that people from our membership are keen to get involved in the trust’s work by standing for election.

“Please make your vote count by deciding who will represent you. I look forward to working with the successful candidates.”

Public members of the trust will receive a voting pack and a postal voting form and will have until June 27 to vote.

Details of the elected candidates will be on on June 30.
