Members of the public will have a chance tonight to air their views on the contentious plans to build on Oakfields playing field.

The meeting, co-hosted by Barkingside 21 and campaign group Save Oakfield Site (SOS), will start at 7.30pm at the Jack Carter pavilion, on Fencepiece Road, Barkingside.

Barkingside 21 Chairman John Sharrock encouraged members of the public to come along and hear the latest details.

He said: “The thing is, Barkingside is already very busy, and if we add 500 more homes into the mix it’s just going to become more congested.”
