Join the campaign to stop King George Hospital’s A&E closing in a protest today.
Save King George Hospital campaigners are inviting anyone to join them outside the hospital, in Barley Lane, Goodmayes, at 1pm.
Only 47 beds will be left at King George by 2017 after 336 close as part of a shake-up of services, and more than half of the site could be sold or rented out to make £9.5million under current plan.
Dr Anil Mehta, chairman of the Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group, said the hospital would become a “centre of excellence” for local people.
But MPs and campaigners have fought the plans for years, insisting services will be “decimated” for residents.
