As part of anti-bullying week, Sanjeev Singh Sahota entertained the Winston Way Primary School pupils in Ilford with a thought-provoking speech about his experiences, last Thursday.

Suki Powar, the school’s deputy head, said: “The children were bowled over with a visit to the school from Sanjeev.

“Sanjeev didn’t hold back any punches when he talked to the children about his childhood experiences which helped him cope with being bullied at school.”

“The assembly was followed by a number of classroom workshops.

“Sanjeev acted as an excellent role model for the children and talked to them not only about how he dealt with the bullying in his life but now as a successful boxer, he also raised with the children the importance of making positive choices including keeping healthy through a balanced diet.”
