Ever wanted to find out what it is like being a firefighter?
Your chance to find out is on offer this Sunday at Ilford Fire Station which is opening its doors to the public from 11am-4pm to show off just what they can do.
You can poke around the fire engines, see an inflatable boat used by fire rescue units and even watch a chip pan burst into flames.
There will also be police officers, representatives from victim support and advice about bogus callers.
Martin Knight, watch manager at the station in High Road, Ilford, said: “It’s to show people a bit of what we can do and a chance to look round the fire engines and see what station life’s about and have a bit of fun and get some advice.”
