A DJ and television presenter has made a video in which he sings for residents to use their local butchers while KFC’s chicken crisis continues.

Tommy Sandhu, a remixer, producer and television presenter pointed out that while the KFC in George Lane may be struggling to provide chicken, the International Supermarket in 146 George Lane is fully stocked.

He says: “It’s day three of the chicken crisis and things are getting serious, people are even calling the police.

“That’s why I’m here to help. They’ve [South Woodford KFC] got no chicken, and that is my international butchers that do sell chicken.

“So KFC, the solution is simple.”

Tony Adams tweeted in response: “That’s George Lane in South Woodford, I go to that KFC to get food for the kids sometimes.

“Might just go to the International Supermarket to get the chicken and do it myself.”

The fast-food chain switched its delivery contract to DHL, who explained that operational issues are the cause of the supply disruption.

KFC’s chicken was previously delivered by specialist food distribution group Bidvest.

Since then, some KFCs have closed or opened at limited times with limited menus.
