A power cut in Ilford and Seven Kings is causing problems at train stations.
Oyster readers have not been working since around 2pm this afternoon and staff are having to guide people through the stations with torches.
Passenger Arjun Kharpal described the scene at Seven Kings station, in High Road, as a “total blackout”.
Power suppliers UK Power Networks said the outage was affecting 22 customers in the High Road area.
It caused by a blown fuse at a substation around 9.30pm yesterday evening.
Engineers fixed the fault and restored electricity supplies around midnight but the same fault cut the power again today.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: “Work is progressing to locate, excavate and isolate the fault on the underground network to restore power supplies as soon as possible.
“We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.”
They estimate power will be back on by 9pm tonight.
