What does a boat in South Park, a toilet in Seven Kings and a Redbridge defibrillator, have in common?

No, it is not a riddle- all of these things have been purchased using money that developers paid to build in the borough. Residents can then apply to use this money for projects that benefit Redbridge.

New gateposts were bought in Elmhurst Gardens, Woodford Green and finance towards a playground at Wanstead Park was secured with the community infrastructure levy, (CIL).

Trees will also be planted in Loxford and a disabled changing places toilet in Ilford.

Councillor Kam Rai is urging residents to apply for funding to improve their areas.

“We know money is in short supply due to government cuts, but this funding is available and an opportunity for residents to have a real say in projects locally,” he said.

“I would love them to come forward and submit an application.”
