Nine-year-old girl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill

A nine-year-old girl was taken to hospital as a priority after being hit by a car yesterday.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said they were called at 4.40pm to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The girl was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

The incident happened in Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill and a Travel for London tweet said one lane was blocked at the Wayside Mews junction.

A spokesman for LAS said: “Out staff treated one patient, a nine-year-old girl for leg and abdominal pain and she was taken as a priory to hospital.”

Redbridge Police said they had attended the incident but it is not being treated as a criminal matter.
