Ilford prostitution crackdown leads to almost 100 arrests

PUBLISHED: 15:38 05 August 2013

Almost 100 people have been arrested in connection with prostitution offences.

Loxford Safer Neighbourhood Team said that since Operation Clearlight was launched in October they have arrested 94 people for prostitution related offences.

They have also achieved a five year anti-social behaviour order for a persistent offender, meaning she will not be allowed to go to the Ilford Lane, Ilford area.

Usually the orders for this type of offences are for two year periods.

The team encourage anyone with information about kerb crawlers, particularly registration details, or any other offences, to email loxford.SNT@met.police.uk.
