Police launch urgent appeal to trace mother of foetus found in Ilford park

Police officers are urgently appealing for information after the discovery of a foetus in an Ilford park sparked fears for the health of the mother.

Metropolitan Police officers were called at 10.41am this morning (Thursday, October 4) to gardens at the nothern end of Valentines Park in Cranbrook Road, where a human foetus had been found.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

The foetus - believed to be around 12-20 weeks’ gestation - is likely to have been disposed of early on the morning of October 4.

The emergency services are concerned about the welfare of the mother, and are appealing for her to contact the emergency services so she can receive any medical treatment she may require.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
