Police launch murder investigation after stabbing in Ilford

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died yesterday following a stabbing.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a residential address in Hickling Road, Ilford, on Saturday, October 17.

The man was found with a stab wound before London Ambulance Service was called and the man was taken to an east London hospital.

Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Officers arrested Marcel Criahan, of Hickling Road, Ilford on Saturday, October 17, in connection with the incident.

The 34-year-old was charged with GBH with intent the following day, and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court on October 19.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on November 3.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating.
