More than £59,000 worth of cannabis plants were discovered when police raided an address in Woodford Green.

Church End Safer Neighbourhood Team obtained a drugs warrant from Barkingside Magistrates Court on September 13 to search a flat.

Upon entering the property in High Road a cannabis factory was discovered in the living room.

The flat was abandoned and there was no one inside.

Police seized 40 mature plants with a street value of up top £60,000.

“Once we had found the plants they were taken away to be destroyed,” a police spokesman said.

“The flat where the warrant took place was secured once the search was complete.”

Inquires are ongoing.
