A Woodford Green thief who police wanted to put back in prison has been caught.

Thomas Evans, 29, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison in October 2010 after pleading guilty to theft and attempted theft from cash machines across the country.

He was part of a gang who stole an estimated �500,000 from ATMs at train stations from Southampton to Weybridge in Surrey and the New Forest.

Evans, previously of Chingford Lane, Woodford Green, was released on license in April last year but was wanted on recall to prison after failing to comply with he conditions of his release.

Police appealed for help tracing him last month and he was arrested on Thursday (3).
