Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a broken bottle at a bus stop.

The 22-year-old, who received cuts to his face and shoulder, was waiting for a bus opposite a nightclub with two friends on Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, when they were approached by two men.

One of the men said he recognised the victim’s friend from inside the nightclub for pushing into the pair in an earlier incident.

The suspect then threw a punch at the victim’s friend but missed.

He then picked up a glass bottle and pushed it into the victim’s face.

The two suspects were last seen running down Cranbrook Road towards Barkingside.

The victim, who reported the incident at 2.20am on Monday August 25, shortly after the attack, was treated at an east London hospital for his injuries.

The suspect for the assault is described as a black male who was wearing a white t-shirt and had short hair.
