Redbridge Council is in the process of evicting Travellers from Roding Valley Park, Wanstead.

In a joint operation with the police, they are trying to remove several vehicles from land at the bottom of Elmcroft Avenue.

“There is joint action by Redbridge police and Redbridge Council enforcement team to evict Travellers from the site,” a council spokesman told the Recorder.

It was planned for the eviction to be over by 3pm but there were delays.

When the operation began, some of the Travellers were not with their vehicles in Wanstead which held up the process.
