Smoking, speeding and the merits of re-naming things were the topics debated in this week’s Time 107.5FM paper review today.

Recorder editor Chris Carter and news editor Laura Burnip joined DJ Steve Allen to discuss the front pages of this week’s Ilford and Romford Recorders and Barking and Dagenham Post.

On Thursday, the Ilford Recorder reported a driver had been caught going 137mph on the A12 in Redbridge, with reports of bikers trying to “beat” the speed camera by going too fast to be caught.

Today’s Romford Recorder reports on Havering Council’s decision to axe its stop smoking services, with the hospital trust pleading for a u-turn on the decision.

And this week’s Barking and Dagenham Post features the row over plans to rebrand the Gascoigne Estate as Weavers Field in a huge regeneration of the area.
