The pensioner was hit by the eastbound train at about quarter to four, and the London ambulance service were called to the scene, sending an ambulance crew and medical team in a car.
AN 83-YEAR-OLD man who was struck by a train at Gants Hill station yesterday escaped with “minor injuries”.
But miraculously, he escaped with minor injuries.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: “He was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, where he was treated for minor injuries.” Services to central line services in the area were delayed up to 20 minutes, while fire and police cleared the area.
The line was re-opened an hour after the incident.
