A pensioner was reunited with the police officer who helped him after a fall caused him to lose a lot of blood last month.
Martin Druce, 81, injured his head in a Costa coffee shop and Pc Lee Smart, of Redbridge Police, came to his aid.
Officers immediately administered first aid and, with the help of a member of the public, were able to stop the blood flow.
London Ambulance Service attended and took Mr Druce to hospital where he received six stitches to the wound.
Today he and his wife, Heather, visited the coffee shop where they were reunited with the officers who helped them.
Mr Druce had travelled to Ilford from Enfield on the day of the accident and had parked in Ley Street using a blue badge.
Pc Scott contacted the local traffic enforcement team who later cancelled a parking ticket fine which had been issued to the car.
He said: βIt was a pleasure to meet Martin and Heather.
βI was so pleased to be able to help Martin and thankfully now he has made a full recovery.β
