Parents have demanded “joined-up” care for their children from schools, hospitals and Redbridge Council.

About 30 people met the Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) earlier this month to have their say on the future of health services.

The conclusion was that a single contact point should be created to deal with all the children’s needs.

Their views will be developed into an action plan by the panel of GPs, who commission services from hospitals, mental health groups and community care providers.

Redbridge CCG chairman Dr Anil Mehta said: “We agree with local mums and dads that services need to be more joined up.

“The planned changes to King George Hospital give us an opportunity to make the changes we all need to see.

“This is an exciting time for children’s services locally as we ask local people how new services should look so we make the most of this opportunity.

“We will now take these views to our governing body so local GPs can take them on board and they are developed further into an action plan.”
