A fed up councillor said she was tired of being told “ah bless”, every time she brought up the traffic problems blighting the area around Fullwell Cross roundabout.

Conservative Cllr Joyce Ryan launched an angry outburst for “getting no answer” in her efforts to find out what would be done to help ease the congestion.

She told area committee three, which met last week in Redbridge Sports and Leisure Centre, Forest Road, Barkingside, that the number of schools in the area, including King Solomon High in Forest Road and Ilford Jewish Primary in Carlton Drive, was making navigating some roads a nightmare.

And with a new school to open next year on the site currently occupied by Ilford Jewish Primary, she said she wanted to know what would be happening “now not later” to help drivers.

The meeting was told a number of residents in Forest Road had previously turned down an offer to impose parking restrictions in the road which may have helped traffic flow.
