Orient v Gillingham kick off changes in Hillsborough tribute

Orient’s clash with Gillingham on April 12 will kick off at 3.07 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

Professional football matches across the country from April 11 to 14 will kick off seven minutes later than scheduled as a mark of respect to the 96 Liverpool fans who died at Sheffield Wednesday’s stadium during their 1989 FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest.

The game on April 15, 1989 was called off at 3.06pm as it became clear fans were in trouble.
