One-woman show exploring the life of Aphra Behn to appear at the Kenneth More Theatre

A one-woman show appearing at the Kenneth More Theatre next weekend reveals the life of an intriguing mistress of disguise.
Aphra Behn, famously described as a “woman in a world full of men”, once worked as a spy and was one of the first British women to make a career from writing.
Virginia Woolf once famously mentioned about the debt of gratitude owed by her fellow contemporary female writers.
She said: “All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of Aphra Behn, for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds.”
Now, thanks to actor Claire Louise Amias, Behn’s story is set to come to Ilford on September 30, in her one-woman show which she also wrote.
