Redbridge’s mayor has urged residents to honour people who make a difference by nominating them for one of his community awards.

Cllr Gurdial Bhamra, Redbridge Mayor, said: “Like so many residents, I’m very proud to call Redbridge home.

“We have so much to respect and celebrate in our borough, so much history and so many achievements.

“And most importantly, it’s the efforts of outstanding residents and local organisations, the people of Redbridge, that help make our borough a unique and fantastic place.

“Every single day local people do fantastic things, going above and beyond to help others. They want to make our borough better and they make an important difference to the community, improving things for us all.

“I urge you to nominate people you know who have made a real difference to our borough.”

A panel of councillors, officers and people from the local community will meet to shortlist the nominations and then select winners in the different award categories.

Nominations close on December 30 and the ceremony will be held on March 23 at Redbridge Town Hall.

To nominate, visit redbridge.gov.uk/mayorsawards. The Young Citizen of the year will be announced on the night.
