Primary school pupils joined staff to open a new chain food store in Newbury Park this week.

The Co-operative Food, in Horns Road, has created 20 jobs following £800,000 of investment.

With a sales area of around 2,000 sq ft, the store has been designed around an ‘appreciation of good food, wine and modern cuisine’.

Ahead of the opening on Thursday, store manager Naz Hussain said: “I’m excited about welcoming customers into our new store, which will offer a completely different shopping experience.

“I’m delighted to welcome pupils from Newbury Park Primary School to share our special day.”

The store, also home to a community information hub, will open from 7am to 11pm every day.
