A new Mayor of Redbridge and leader of the council will be appointed at the first council meeting of majority Labour rule tonight.
Although both positions have already been decided upon - with Cllr Ashley Kissin being the mayor elect and Cllr Jas Athwal, the Labour leader, set to replace Keith Prince as council leader - the meeting will see both being officially sworn in.
The departing mayor and deputy mayor will be given votes of thanks at the meeting in Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford, too.
