A popular sun cream from a cosmetics brand has been banned from the UK after being branded “high risk”.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has said the product was rejected at the UK border.
The Bubble Cosmetics Sunscreen Pack was recently given a high risk rating by the OPSS.
The OPSS said the sunscreen was a hazard because it has “inadequate labelling and traceability information”.
Why has the Bubble Cosmetics Sunscreen Pack been banned from the UK?
On the sunscreen, the OPSS said: “The product presents a risk due to inadequate labelling and traceability information.
“Multiple mandatory cosmetic labelling requirements have not been met, including omissions relating to sunscreen use instructions and product traceability.
“As a result, consumers may not have sufficient information to use the product appropriately, and effective regulatory traceability is impaired.
“The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (‘the Cosmetics Regulation’).”
The sunscreen was originally shipped from the United States.
Bubble Cosmetics is sold in both Boots and on ASOS.
The items that have been rejected are a range of sunscreens that are packaged in yellow cardboard boxes.

How to tell if a sunscreen is safe
While a sunscreen might be sold in supermarkets, it still might not be the safest option to buy.
The NHS has released advice on how to check if a sunscreen is safe.
It says you should always check the label before buying a sunscreen.
The label should have a sun protection factor of at least 30 to protect against UVB and have at least 4-star UVA protection.
The UVA protection score can be indicated by the letters UVA in a circle, which shows it meets the EU standard.
If you have old sunscreens, you should check they are not past their expiry date.
The expiry date is marked by an open jar symbol with an M and a number, which shows how many months the sunscreen will last after it has been opened.
The NHS also says that you should not rely on sunscreen to protect yourself alone.
You should also wear suitable clothing and spend time in the shade when the sun is at its hottest.
