Labour and Tories played the same tune on a visit to Redbridge Primary School yesterday.
Conservative education minister Nick Gibb joined deputy council leader Cllr Wes Streeting at the College Garden school to see what the borough is doing for music provision among young people.
The pair got a glimpse of Redbridge’s whole class ensemble tuition programme, and took part in a recorder lesson themselves.
Practising, perseverance and group work are three positive skills the project is intended to encouraged.
Cllr Streeting said: “It was fantastic to be able to showcase Redbridge’s musical talent to Nick Gibb and to take part in a Recorder lesson at the same time.
“We’re very proud of what we do here to give children from all backgrounds the chance to develop their musical skills.”
