More than 60 people ventured to Redbridge Sports Centre to take part in a charity netball tournament.

To raise money for St Francis Hospice, men and women joined forces to play seven games on the trot at a mixed rally.

The competition, held at Forest Road, Barkingside on Friday (October 13) proved lucky for some with team Jester being crowned overall winners.

Team TFL came in second and showcased some brilliant ball skills.

Shona Maccabe Netball development officer at Redbridge Sports Centre said: “It went really well and everyone said that they had a great night and really enjoyed the event.

“We raised £400 for St Francis Hospice.

“A big thank you to everyone who played, the umpires and other volunteers were amazing and made it a great success.”

Redbridge Sports Centre holds around four mixed tournaments a year for charity.

The next one will take place in spring 2018 when the weather gets better.
