Four men were attacked with metal bars and sticks in an alleyway last night after asking a group to move their car.
The Asian men, all in their mid-20s, were set upon near SSS Chicken, of Goodmayes Lane, Goodmayes, at 11.20pm by four men.
They had been driving down the alleyway when they saw the vehicle was in their path and asked its passengers if they could move it.
The men then got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victims.
Three of the suspects are described as white and the other as black. The black man is said to have had braided hair and was wearing a red and black chequered hoodie.
A female with blonde hair is believed to have been driving the car, which was a silver Vauxhall Zafira.
If anyone saw the incident, they should call Redbridge police with information on 101 or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
