Santa is coming to (Ilford) town on Saturday (November 24).
Children have a few hours left to make sure they are on the “good list” before the big fella himself pops into the borough for a Christmas parade on the High Road.
Organised by Ilford Business Improvement District (BID), the event will begin outside Starbucks at 11am and Father Christmas has brought some friends along for the ride, including Ben & Holly and Catboy, Gekko and Owlette from PJMask.
The procession, which will feature a marching band, dancers and giant bells, will end at the Exchange shopping centre and little ones will have the opportunity to me Santa until 3.30pm on the day and at various times in his grotto up to Christmas Eve.
A spokeswoman for BID said there are lots of seasonal things to see and do, including visiting the 40ft Christmas tree outside Redbridge Town Hall.
“More fun festivities include the BIDs Christmas Polar Bear Trail,” she said.
“Taking place from November 25 through to December 30, young visitors to Ilford will be challenged to find Polar Bears hidden around the town centre.
“Once trailers have found 10 out of 20 polar bears will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a gift voucher worth £100 to be spent in Ilford.
“On Saturday, December 15th, LED Lit Ballerina hula-hoop performers will take the town centre by storm with dance performances on the town hall steps from 4:30pm. On Saturday, December 22, Elf Acrobats will take the stage to perform exciting routines from 4pm.
