Redbridge is one of nine boroughs to profit from Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s offer of communities grants, with Redbridge Music Lounge set to profit from the initiative.

Based in Warwick Gardens, Ilford, Redbridge Music Lounge’s ‘Music in Mind’ scheme will receive additional support from City Hall as part of a £1million Culture Seeds programme.

The scheme takes musical and singing activities to people in residential care around the borough.

Jon Pushkin of Redbridge Music Lounge said: “We are very grateful to have received this grant. Culture Seeds will fund at least 35 musical performances for isolated people who live in care homes and sheltered housing blocks.”

Funding has been granted to projects across the cCapital that involves community arts, culture and heritage projects and activities.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said: “My new Culture Seeds fund are small grants which will make a big difference to projects across the capital.”
