Helped by the Redbridge Cycling Centre, Mayespark Primary School pupils were given a crash course in how best to ride a bicycle safely.

Teacher Natalia Lema, who has been at the school in Goodmayes Lane, Goodmayes, for a year, told the Recorder: “It was for the nursery classes so for most of them it was their very first time on a bike, so fortunately they were those special stabilised ones.

“It was really, really good and all the children really enjoyed it.

“Every day they keep asking me, ‘Miss, can we go on the bikes again today?’ and I have to tell them that it was a one-off.”
