Man taken to hospital after car comes off Chigwell Road, Woodford Green

A man was taken to hospital this morning after his car came off the road in Woodford Green.

Police and ambulance services were called to Chigwell Road at 5.14am to reports of a black Toyota RAV off the road.

A man was taken to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, with chest pains, described as “non life-threatening” by the police.

A police spokesman said the road was re-opened at 8.45am.

There were reports of severe delays with traffic blocked in both directions between the B173 Manor Road junction and the A1400 Southend Road junction at about 9am.
